Pickleball Goes Global: The World Pickleball Cup Heads to Vietnam

The 2026 Pickleball World Cup is bringing national teams from around the world to Da Nang, Vietnam, highlighting the rapid international growth of the sport.

Da Nang, Vietnam — August 4th 2026

Pickleball continues to expand beyond its traditional markets, and this summer the sport will reach another important milestone as Vietnam hosts the 2026 Pickleball World Cup.

Taking place from August 30 to September 6 in Da Nang, the event brings national teams and players from across the world together for a week of international competition. The World Pickleball Federation has officially recognised and supported the event as an international competition.

A New Global Stage for Pickleball

The World Cup represents another step in pickleball’s transformation into a truly international sport.

The event will feature national-team competition alongside individual events, with players competing across different age groups and divisions. Organisers have announced participation from countries across multiple continents, with the tournament expected to bring thousands of athletes and representatives to Vietnam.

For the sport, hosting an event of this scale in Southeast Asia is significant. Vietnam is becoming an increasingly important market for pickleball, while Da Nang is positioning itself as a destination for international sporting events.

Connecting the Global Pickleball Community

At Smash Pickleball Agency, we believe that the continued internationalisation of pickleball creates new opportunities for players, brands, federations and organisations across Europe.

Events such as the World Cup help create a more connected global pickleball ecosystem, giving athletes the opportunity to represent their countries and compete against players from different markets.

For European pickleball, this global expansion also opens the door to new international pathways, from player development and competition to partnerships, sponsorship and international events.

The growth of the sport is no longer limited to one country or continent. Pickleball is becoming a global game, and Europe is part of that movement.
